16 Weeks!

Here are my belly photos at 16 weeks. I did these myself with the self-timer on the camera, so they're not the best. Last week was pretty busy with Paul's friend Adam visiting from Iowa and the boys going out a lot, and I was not feeling well with a stomach bug.

This week has been a blast from the past. My 10 year high school reunion is coming up this October so the e-mails from the old friends have started circulating. Through the e-mail chain I realized that a high school friend lives in Jacksonville, so we'll be meeting up for dinner next week. And thanks to facebook, I had dinner on Friday with a friend who goes back to being in our mom's bellies. My mom and her mom met in Lamaze class when they were pregnant with our older brothers, and then they were pregnant with us at the same time. We were friends while I lived in Tallahassee, but at lost touch over the years. Now I am 16 weeks pregnant with my first, and she is 20 weeks pregnant with her second - talk about coming full circle!!

I'll be starting prenatal yoga next week, and with finally updating this weekly I feel like I'm finally getting on course with all things pregnancy. Now I just need to catch up on my journal, book our various childbirth classes, and tour some hospitals...nothing much.

Nursery, Maternity Clothes, and Baby Bump

A few weeks ago Paul started transforming our office/mess room into our new baby's room. He put down pergo floor and painted the walls a soft jade green. We soon realized the green was a bit overwhelmingly and so Paul designed and built white shadowbox molding. I'm so excited to start decorating it now, it really looks like a nursery!
Also a few weeks ago, I noticed my clothes were getting a bit tight. Now everything but dresses and a few skirts don't fit, so I spent the day shopping for maternity clothes with my mom on Saturday. I'm excited to say I now have three pairs of pants, lounge pants, and another dress and shirt that fit, and hopefully will continue to fit as my belly gets bigger.
We've been slackers in documenting the pregnancy so far, but we finally took the first round of belly photos. More to come as the belly and baby grows.

Back to Beantown, but just for the weekend

On Friday, September 10th, I headed up to Boston for a girls' weekend with good friend, Tiffany. She lives in Connecticut and had never been to Boston, and since its still feeling like over 100 in the South, Boston was the obvious winner of our weekend destination. We went just for fun and it worked out that it ended up being likely my last girls' weekend away before our little one joins us.
We didn't do much of the touristy stuff, mostly just walked around the city enjoying some good food, sites, and beautiful weather. We caught a great little stand up comedy show and stopped by my favorite Marshalls to try on some ridiculous dresses. Before heading home on Sunday we had some yummy Chinese food in Harvard Square. Overall a super fun weekend away.

The big news...which is not so new now.

As most of you already know, I am pregnant! Safely well into my 13th week now and starting to get my energy back. So now that its really public I can share my progress with all you friends and family here. A lofty idea since I already have two pregnancy journals that are barely written in. I'm not planning on posting too much pregnancy related stuff on Facebook, so this will be the place for all info about Baby Behan. I'll try to figure out how to scan my the sonogram photos onto here although I'm not quite sure you'll be able to see much of our little peanut. Looking forward to sharing all the progression of our little one!
