Week 29 at Christmas

Had a nice Christmas, our last without a little one - so hard to imagine! We had Dixie and Sushi up with my parents so the dogs ran the house for the holiday. Paul got me an amazing present, in addition to the fun ipod, of a family tree photo frame with pictures of us as kids, our families, and one of our ultrasound photos in the middle. He's always so good with presents!

We met with a pediatrician and think we found a good one. Thankfully that was one of the easiest baby decisions we had to make.

Week 28 and Tuppy tries out the carriers

Getting ready to have some time off for the Christmas break. We're planning a laid back and relaxing Christmas this year. Just mom and dad coming up and Josh and Stephanie will stop by for a visit. Usually I get really into Christmas, make way too many cookies and baked goods for everyone, but this year I'm just happy that I got the house decorated and managed to bake some cookies.

We got two carriers as baby presents so I wanted Paul to try them out to see which one he liked best. So that he could get an accurate feel for the carriers, we put Tuppy in the carrier. Not surprisingly, he seemed to really like it.

Week 26 is for the dogs

Sort of a rough week because I wasn't feeling well over the weekend and the hormonal crankies got ahold of me something fierce. I nearly threw my cell phone out the window into I-95 traffic. Thank goodness for pre-natal yoga!
I feel her more and more now - and even Paul can feel her too. She gives me the biggest kicks in the evening before bed.
Here's some cute Stella & Tups photos and some belly photos of course.

Technical difficulties

In week 26 now, and I've been trying to upload photos so that I can write a post each week with my belly photo but have been having some issues with the computer. We're out of disk space so until we delete a lot of photos we cant load any more photos onto our computer.

Things are going well in week 26, although I'm really starting to feel like a pregnant woman now. This little one is really growing and growing me out of my pants. The nursery is really coming together and looking like our little girl's room. Hopefully we can get the photos uploaded soon and then I'll go back and post for each week. I just didn't want all one or two of you that actually check and read this to think that we stopped posting.

Merry Christmas!!

Week 25

No belly photos for this week. I guess we were just so busy putting away all of our great shower presents that we forgot to take one. Oopsy!

Baby Shower Time! Week 24

My mom and soon-to-be-sister-in-law Stephanie threw me a baby shower this weekend at my parents' house in Ormond Beach! I came down to my parents' house on Friday night to spend some time with my Aunt Karen who flew in from Virginia. Saturday morning my mom and I started they day with a clear peal and mud mask. The shower was so much fun! The house was decorated so cute and my mom and Steph really thought of everything. Friends Tiffany and Jordan even came in from Connecticut and Iowa!
I didn't get many photos since I was too busy taking part of everything, but I did get some photos of the "see how many cotton balls you can pick up with your nose with vaseline on it and blow them off without using your hands" game - which was really funny! I think 7 was the record.
We received so many presents that day that it took nearly 3 cars to bring them all home! We are going to have one very well dressed little girl!

Go 'Noles!

We finally decided on a finish and style for the crib and then I spent days calling baby stores around the Florida and Georgia to find it. We ended up ordering it from a store in Thomasville, GA, so I had to drive up to go get. Thankfully I was able to enlist the help of Britain and Chris to take with me to Thomasville to load the crib into the Pilot.

I ended up sticking around in Tallahassee for the FSU-Clemson game. Kick off wasn't until 8pm and since it was about 36 degrees outside we said we would leave just after the half, the only problem was that the game was so good and so close, that we ended up staying until the very end - with our butts frozen to the bleachers. It was a great last minute win for FSU!

When I got home with the crib Paul was all ready to get it set up, and Stella helped! We chose the Kathryn style in cherry and we love it, hopefully our little girl will love it too.

Week 22 - I felt her move!

I had a pre-natal massage on Friday (thanks to Groupon) and when I got home that evening I finally felt our little girl move! It was just the slightest of movements, but it was defintely her. Paul and I were both really excited, although it'll be even better once Paul can feel her too. Oh, these are the curtains we made.

Sewing and Pumpkin Carving for Week 21

My mom came up for the weekend to sew for the baby's room with me. We made a dust ruffle and fitted sheet for the crib, curtains, a valance and a baby pillow. It all turned out so cute - I can't wait to have the room all put together. Somehow I now have the patience to spend the day sewing, something that I used to only be able to do for an hour or two at a time.

After my mom headed home, Paul and I got set up for Halloween. Since Stella and Tups go nuts everytime someone comes to our door we decided it'd be best if we sat outside to greet the trick-or-treators. We set up the firepit, the patio couch, and a table to carve our pumpkin on out in the driveway. We listened to some music and enjoyed a relaxing evening by the fire, I think it even made Paul hate Halloween just a little less.

Week 20

A busy week in the second trimester! Unfortunately I had a nasty cold all week, but I took a day off and got some much needed rest. Paul and I toured St. Vincent's maternity center, the hospital where I'm set to delivery (mostly because that's where my OB practice is). The rooms were not as large as I had hoped, and although I'm sure it will be just fine I got the impression it wasn't really designed for women delivering unmedicated.
We had a great time at Stephanie and Josh's engagement party on Saturday. It was nice to spend the evening with family and friends and celebrate the good news of their engagement.

It's a Girl!!!

On the first day of week 19 Paul, my mom, dad, and I headed to my second trimester ultrasound appointment. This was the big day when we got to see our little one and find out if we're having a boy or a girl. When they first brought just me back to the ultrasound room to do the measurements our little one was being modest with her legs crossed, so the technician had me lay on my side to try to get her to move around a bit. I asked her nicely if she would cooperate since it was just family. Luckily when Paul and my parents came in we were able to see that she is indeed a little girl! And the best news was that she is perfectly healthy and growing right on schedule!
After the appointment we headed down the street to Avondale to grab a late lunch and go into some of the adorable & overpriced baby boutiques. In order to share the news we took a photo of Paul holding a little pink dress and texted it to friends and family. Next we went down to the Babies R Us at the Towncenter to begin the registry process. We spent an hour looking at strollers and nothing else! After an hour of playing with strollers we met the Roys for dinner at Bahama Breeze. My parents had to head home after dinner, but Paul and I made a mad dash to BabyGap and then we finally hit the road too.
It was such a great day! It felt like a celebration, with all of the exciting anticipation of Christmas but even better because this present is the best one ever!
