Week 17 in Colorado

For the weekend of my 17th week we headed out to Longmont, Colorado for a friend's wedding.

We flew into Denver Saturday afternoon and headed to Longmont, about 45 minutes Northwest of Denver. The groom is a fraternity brother of Paul's, and so it was a bit of a reunion for him and the other four fraternity brothers that came up for the wedding. Saturday night we met up with the bride and groom and other wedding guests at a local brew pub to watch college football (and watch the Gators get whopped by Alabama!).
Before the wedding on Sunday evening, Paul and I drove out to Estes Park and up to the Rocky Mountain National Park. Lucky for us it was Elk season, so we got to see the Elk up close and personal - pretty cool until the huge buck with giant antlers started bellowing at us. With the crazy high altitude we weren't much for trekking on foot, so we mostly drove through the National Park. Amazing how quickly we were winded!
The wedding was Sunday evening, and was our first traditional Jewish wedding. It was a really neat experience and such a pretty location. The boys had a good time and managed not to get into too much trouble. On Monday we explored around Boulder and what I can only imagine is a rare occurrence in Colorado - rain! We got back really late Monday night and were greeted by two very happy dachsies.
